Conjunctivitis as the name majorly known as “Apollo” is caused by germs when it is in contact with the eye.
It was believed in Africa majorly West Africa as it is believed to have connection with Accra moon landing.
What some people don't know about red eye apollo is that it can not only be transferrable but you can also contact it in different ways and it majorly affects children.
I had alot of experience with conjunctivitis when I was small, every season when it's time for a new session is when the apollo starts spreading. But I'll just be sharing the experience of the first time I had it.
It was holiday just like this time when my cousin came to visit us, he was someone we were used to as this was not his first time of coming, but this time he came with conjunctivitis, he has been on medication for two days to cure the conjunctivitis, it was already curing but we could still see some traces of the infection in his eyes.
We thought it will be gone before the next day, our mum warned us to stay careful as it is transferrable, we didn't listen as we went playing as we are used to, it was my elder brother that started itching his eyes in the evening, he spent more time with him because they were age mate.
He started complaining more and until the next morning when we all woke up and saw his eyes were completely yellow. I was scared and tried as much as possible to stay far away from them both, but it was too late because I had already been affected without knowing, the same afternoon I was feeling some itch in my eyes, I knew it was the infection and I tried as much as possible not to scratch it.
I quickly went to my mum to complain, she gave me eye drop which I had to be using continuously, it really worked but I still had some pains which made me became careful with the infection.
