I want to enrich my blog hive with the memory of a trip I took a few years ago with my ex girlfriend, in reality the trip was a gift for her because I never dreamed of going to Scotland, yet, I will tell you that I completely changed my mind, indeed I was in love with it! I'm one of those people who struggle to remember events, so I'll look at the photos of the trip chronologically in order to retrace it and help me remember ...

I assure you that the pre-departure was already a movie, she was late as usual and the airport was far away and I didn't have a car in my hand, on the contrary, it hardly reached 130km / h, as if that were not enough halfway, I still don't understand how, she was wrong to enter the position in the navigator and so we found ourselves somewhere else still very far away, we lost that half hour of waste that made us sure to be able to arrive on time, the navigator was not right help, at a certain point it also indicated the wrong exit from the road and so I had to follow the signs ...
Super late, we finally reach the airport where we leave the car and enter to begin the boarding procedures, the other passengers were obviously already in the boarding area.

Finally we make it, we sit on the long-awaited flight and I start the procedures for the departure, for me it was the first flight and I admit that there was a bit of emotion, no fear, indeed I was super curious to hear what it feels like when the aircraft off the ground.

The trip was relatively short, I think it was 4 hours, apart from the questionable comfort of the plane it was also pleasant, our flight headed north and we had the pleasure of flying over the alps and having just begun spring they were still completely covered by a white blanket of snow, a spectacle! write it now in the red zone, not being able to move even out of the ordinary a little makes me envy.

I apologize for the quality of the image but I assure you that the snow in a clear sky has a truly exaggerated reflection. Once we arrived in Edinburgh we immediately headed to the hotel to leave our luggage, the place is called HOTEL DU VIN & BISTRO if any of you have the opportunity to stay in Edinburgh I highly recommend you go there, the style of the property it is typically Scottish with a French bent perhaps in interior design, it is a classy place but the prices are modest.

We immediately moved to visit the center of Edinburgh which more than a center is a line because it is arranged along the whole ROYAL MILE, or the central road that leads from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood palace, the palace of the royals of Scotland.
These two buildings with completely different architectures are the two corners of the road and are exactly one nautical mile away from each other, which is why the name ROYAL MILE.
And I assure you that all along the route there is absolutely no need to be bored because in every corner you can find fascinating structures of Gothic architecture and more or less traditional oddities.

Although from my photos it may not seem like I assure you that Scotland in general never has a clear and stable weather, on the contrary it is quite the opposite, it is dull, rainy, windy and sometimes cold. For the entire duration of my trip, however, a completely different climate was presented, serene and stable with an atypical sky than usual.

After a couple of rounds of patrolling, tired and hungry, we sit down in an inn to try the first fish and chips. The fish in Scotland is really good, even if fried is a bit of a brick to digest, and the beer is spectacular, I never really expected it.

For lovers of magic and more generally of mystical stories of witches and wizards, Scotland is the place to be, founded on bizarre superstition stories, perhaps also the reason why the author of the series Harry Potter chose it as his home of the overwhelming saga, in fact in edinburgh there are many places described in the book and visible in the film and you can find lots of names that JK Rowling used to compose the plot.

Edinburgh is also a place rich in history and it is possible to visit a lot of places, in fact for the first evening we reserved the walking tour that led to all the most exciting historical places, some even very mysterious, the stories about the superstition of edinburgh are truly bizarre and fascinating and the locals still believe them to be true, not all of them thankfully. One of these is Calton Hill from which it is possible to see part of the city and on which there are historical and non-historical monuments.

The sightseeing tour that day ended in a cemetery as the atmosphere of Edinburgh was not already disturbing enough, it is a common thing to actually go and visit the cemeteries and be told the stories of mystery that lie behind to the gravestones of some and to some graves that have also been stolen, I think there is also a special event on halloween where people camp in the cemetery and dress up for the celebration in the scariest ways possible, it's called Samhuinn fire festival, luckily I went to another period and I missed this thing. However, I was unable to avoid the story of this tomb and of the man who was buried there which is said to be represented by the moisture permeations of the tombstone, I believe they have a lot of creativity and imagination, maybe I'm too skeptical. Since the stories are long and I would like to dedicate an entire chapter to many places, I would say that for today we can also finish here, I assure you that the continuation is far from dark, even if it is a part that cannot be separated from the history of Scotland and of Edinburgh.
