Hello friends,
Finally, I have some good news: my grandmother has made a great recovery, and now she's undergoing some minor rehabilitation, but we can say she's out of danger. So, together with my dearest friend Giada, I've been looking for some travel deals outside Italy. Lately, prices here have become quite expensive, so I decided to try somewhere else, even though I've been told that many European countries, including Croatia and Greece, have become quite pricey as well.
Those who have seen my posts already know that I have a soft spot for the sea, beaches, and everything related to warmth and relaxation. So, we found a flight offer from Milan to the Balearic Islands, not as budget-friendly as before the pandemic, but I can't complain.
This will be the first post about the Balearic Islands, and the first place I stayed at was Camp de Mar. I believe many of you are already familiar with it because it's quite famous as a tourist destination. It's practically located on the southwest coast of Mallorca, and as you can see from the initial photos, the impact was beautiful as the beach is lovely with crystal-clear waters and, most importantly, well-equipped with basic facilities like showers and bathrooms.
Furthermore, I liked how the beach equipment was structured; it was not intrusive at all but well integrated into the natural environment, and I was also impressed by the little bar that is somewhat separated from the beach.
We found a somewhat Spartan accommodation on Airbnb, but I think we'll spend more time on the beach than inside the house. I would live this kind of life here if I had the chance, but I believe I'm not the only one thinking this way.
As soon as I arrived, I was approached by people, probably tour sellers operating nearby, who wanted to sell me boat excursions to admire other islands nearby. However, they were asking for a lot of money, and I was quite impressed by that.
Naturally, besides vacation homes, there are also beautiful resorts and luxurious hotels nearby. I've been told that there are several attractions as well, such as the museum-theater that hosts numerous collections and works of the artist Salvador Dalì. We'll see if we find the time and opportunity to visit it, but I plan to enjoy this beautiful beach. Although my intention is to explore and discover new places, I don't want to stress myself too much. It's normal to feel the desire to explore in such places, but one must also take it easy, or else the vacation becomes too stressful.
Thank you, friends. I hope you enjoyed what I shared and my story. The first impression has been positive. It's not my first time in the Balearic Islands; I had been here in the past. However, I was impressed by the surge in tourism, probably after the pandemic, as this place has been flooded with many Germans and English, but not many Italians, maybe because they come at a different time.
See you soon in the next post.
