#Blog - So I found this DMania...

Yet another decentralized content portal that uses Steem and follows the same principles of the original Steemit platform. This time you can get Steem by making memes. Yeah, you didn't read it wrong...MEMES. Ladies and gentlemen, there's a Steem network platform that rewards you with cash for bloody memes! HAHA

Although I think that the idea of a decentralized platform is great and stuff, I believe these things are getting off hand. What would we find next? Steem for breathing? Jokes aside, It's scary how the platform can expand to uphold such an immense amount content and reward people for this.

But what scares me about the platform is that people would just go straight into the cash, using less of the brilliantly defined by the fellow @discernente as "proof of brain", which would reward you for using your brain to create valuable content. I'm not actually complaining about that, since you can express your creativity by several forms and getting directly rewarded for that is astounding, but this kinda makes content creating a bit too banal.

But since this is a democratic platform I think, on the other hand, that it'd be a great starting point for newcomers on Steemit, since they can get to see how the system works in a more simple way, getting started in the platform by a fun and lighthearted way.

The DMania Bot

This is perhaps the greatest benefactor and peril for this platform. This "bot" is an account with a huge amount of Steem Power that picks posts and upvotes them, rewarding large amounts of Steem and Steem Dollars per upvote.

Benefactor yes, because some payments are currently exceeding $ 60,00 - right, @andyluy? hehe - and every cash is welcome to help getting the wheel spinning, but also peril because many people are coming with the illusion of free Steem.

The DMania Bot won't just vote everyone around, but a few lucky fellas. So when people start realizing that they weren't upvoted by the Richie Rich of the bots, they might just give up and forgetting about DMania. This is perhaps my main concern about this network.

Anyways, the idea of a decentralized crypto-currency based 9gag is still something for me to handle. Although I have my concerns, I believe that this might work. We'll see within the next weeks if it'll work out!
