DIY Tutorial: How To Build A Steady Cam Rig For Under $10
Learn how to easily build a steady cam rig for under $10. Also check out the shots I got with my phone using this rig.
I learned how to make this from a friend about 3 years ago, it's definitely one of my secret weapons when it comes to making videos, but I figured I'd share it with all of you anyways. A steady cam is really handy for getting smooth shots while still being able to freely move the camera. I definitly am walking on some rough terrain so some jitter is to be expected. Definitely check out the shot of the creek at around 4:30 and you'll see the full potential with this simple system. heading to the creek is a bit bumpy as I've got the video running around 4x speed, you'll see when things slow down to normal speed how buttery and smooth this rig makes things look.
I have used this technique with both a cell phone and a dslr. It's a lot of fun and definitely still takes some practice to operate well. I hope you all try this out and post some videos showing how it worked for you!
thanks for all the love and support, you guys rock!
