Another one I did in 2006! It was actually done before I did the praying mantis one. I looked at a Hokusai print and tried to recreate the print but with oil paints. I like that oil paints are softer than acrylic but you can still layer. It being a "print" style painting, things had to still be flat. It was my very first oil painting too so there are things that I would have done different today. This guy is hanging on my wall and serves as a reminder of how far I've come.
