The rule of thumb is, interests up stocks down, interests down stocks up. Counterintuitively the FED just gave the biggest interest rate increase in 20 years and crypto is going up, even if only slightly.

It is impossible to know why, but I have formulated 3 simple theories, ranked to from the simplest to the most difficult to prove/argue:

  1. The market follows no rule, and that is a rule, just because the interests are going up it doesn't mean it is illegal for markets to go up LOL

  2. The markets had already priced in the interest increase, which optimistically means we can have a bull run, even if a short one. Markets were down, expecting the interests to go up, now that we have aa few couple weeks, at least, until the next increase, we can breathe in relief

  3. The interest rate increase indicates a possibly deep economic issue and people want to buy assets to protect themselves against a possible devaluation of the USD. Usually people invest in fixed income (interest bearing) assets, like bonds, and that is what makes the markets go down, but this time something may be different.

Why do you think crypto and interests are going up at the same time? Do you agree this is counterintuitive?
