Yikes Grass!

Drizzly and breezy Thursday morning in DD. The monsoon brought about by Bavi (Inday) seems to be affecting our region. But a bit of rain is much better than a typhoon. And darn, our power went off a little while ago, yikes!

Anyway, I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I saw my allocation (rewards) in the second season of Grass for sharing my internet bandwidth for almost 2 years (500+ days, between October 14, 2024 to June 8, 2026). I mean, wow! That is so insanely unbelievable.😂

Is it an error? Maybe it's just me, I thought. And why are the rewards in USDC not in GRASS? A glitch perhaps?

Out of curiosity, I went to X for the first time in a long while to see how people are taking things. Found many rants and memes there. Some are saying their meager rewards couldn't even pay a few days cost of electricity, and not even enough for a cup of coffee. Others are showing screenshots of the grass app being uninstalled, many are calling the project a fraud (scam).

Aahh... so there is no error in my dashboard. The numbers are real. And many are terribly disgusted and upset, especially after the project reported it had generated almost a hundred million dollars in revenue during the season. And we thought the community is a priority.

Maybe we just expected a bit more decent reward (basing it from season 1's rewards, which were way better and in a shorter period). But seriously, season 2's allocation is like a bad food that leaves a foul taste in the mouths of most of the 8 million users/node operators.

Then again, this isn't the first project that disappointed its community. We have had similar experiences in the past, and like before, we will just laugh this out, and move on. As they say, we win some, we lose some. That's part of life, more so in the crypto world.
