Red Market, Discord Scam & Such [Week 41]

Woke up to a bloody market, with HIVE at 13 cents. I thought my eyes were playing me, so I closed the app and reopened it again, and yikes, it was real. Binance even recorded a 24-H low of 3 cents. Whoa! Lucky are those who were able to snag some at such a price. It might be a glitch, or maybe a trader panicked and sold some. Don't know really.

I quickly bought some from the exchange and sent it here, with the intention of getting a bit more SURGE, but darn! Hive-Engine was so glitchy that my swap got stuck, and I'm still waiting for it.

Reported the issue on Discord, and a scammer tried to trick me by asking me to create a support ticket. It was not a DM; it was a reply to my report on the #beeswap-support channel, so I was unsuspecting (my first time at the dCity Discord server), so I clicked on it, and a ticket was created. I didn't even read the intro and just sent my concern, including the transaction hash.

Then he replied, asking a weird question, which raised an alarm. I suddenly noticed the name "SUPPORT TICKET-pumping." That further confirmed it wasn't legit.

I only managed to screenshot this, but I replied asking what he meant by custodian. When he mentioned Ledger, TrustWallet, etc, my alarm sounded louder, and I typed "Oh geez, this is a scam!" and immediately, the ticket chat disappeared in an instant, lol!

Crazy how bad actors do things just to cheat others. Let's be careful out there.

Well, as a precaution (although I didn't share anything), I thought of changing my account keys. But for some reason, it isn't allowing me and is giving me an error. I'm not sure what was wrong. I certainly entered the correct Owner Key. Tried a couple of times, but it's still the same.

Anyway, it's Saturday and it's goaling time as usual. Week 41 is concluding, and here's how it went so far for me:

I didn't catch the chance when Bitcoin dropped to $102k. I was still snoring when it happened (5:20 am), so yeah, no buying occurred. Hence, my Sats balance remained unchanged. Will see if we can add some soon.

HBD Savings:

• Previous Week: 2,185 HBD

15 HBD was added during the week. 300 HBD remains on my target for the year. I would need to save at least 27 HBD a week to cross off the goal. It's not looking achievable, but will just keep on anyway.

Staked HIVE

• Current Amount: 28,888 HP
• Previous Week: 28,743 HP

145 HP in the week. While this was not part of my SSC goal, I'm including it on my weekly monitoring for personal record. I think my ultimate goal of having 30k HP by year-end is possible, unless HIVE pumps to 50 cents or so. Will just continue to do what we do each day and see how it goes.
