Finally some brightness up there, yay!
And with the glow behind the clouds, we might be seeing Mr. Sun today for the first time in weeks馃尀
My eyes continued to wander in the vast sky above us and while taking a photo, something tiny showed up. Zooming in a bit, and aha, a half-illuminated moon!馃寷
Forcing the zoom to its limit (21x) and we got this.
While this wasn't the first time seeing the moon in a daytime, I got curious why it gets to appear at times. A quick search and AI gave me some explanation, and I quote from source:
We see the moon during the day because it reflects sunlight and is close enough to Earth to appear brighter than the scattered sunlight in our atmosphere. The moon orbits Earth once every 27 days, meaning its position relative to the sun changes constantly, causing it to be above the horizon during daylight hours for most of the lunar month.
While the moon is visible during the day for about half the month, its visibility depends on its phase and distance from the sun in the sky:
- Brightest Visibility: The moon is most easily seen during the first quarter and last quarter phases, when it is roughly 90 degrees away from the sun, providing a good balance of illumination and separation from solar glare.
- Gibbous Phases: The waxing gibbous (afternoon sky) and waning gibbous (morning sky) phases also offer high visibility as large portions of the moon are illuminated.
- New Moon: The moon is generally invisible during the day around the new moon phase because it is too close to the sun in the sky, with its bright side facing away from Earth and its dark side hidden by the sun's glare.
- Full Moon: During a full moon, the moon is opposite the sun, rising at sunset and setting at sunrise, so it is primarily a nighttime object and rarely visible during the day.

Accordingly, today (September 4) is the waning phase (Third Quarter), hence half the moon is visible up there. I'm feeling lucky to have seen it this morning馃槉
Anyway, some more pics taken, showing bright blue shades amongst the clouds.
Hoping the weather continues to improve. No more monsoon rains please馃檹
