A serene and beautiful Sunday morning in DD. The neighbors may have already gone to church, or perhaps like us, they're just having a quiet, laid-back day.
My body seems to be in an adjustment mode. While I no longer wake up many times a night for bathroom breaks, I keep oversleeping, waking up later than usual, mostly when the sun is already up and shining.
And that is breaking my almost established habit of getting out of bed early. My dedicated hour for short walks and introspection is being lost to sleep. Yikes!馃榿 I should set an alarm, lol!
Anyway, we were in the backyard yesterday late afternoon when suddenly, someone spoke behind us. It turned out to be the hubby's elementary classmate. Oh la la! What a surprise!
He enthused that they were in the area to check on a piece of land for lease when it was mentioned that the property below it is owned by someone who sounded familiar. He got curious whether it was who he first thought of.
"Lo and behold, it's truly you!" he cracked a grin and gave the husband a playful jab.
"A small world, huh!" the Farmboy chuckled.
Excited conversations ensued. Then his companion came. After inviting them for coffee (which they apologetically declined, saying they would soon leave for the city), I excused myself to calm my boy inside the house, who was barking nonstop because he sensed the strangers' presence.
The hubby later shared that his classmate used to drive a traditional tricycle in another town for local commuters. He seems to have progressed further and is now looking to rent farmlands. He even asked if we could lease the unutilized portion of the property. Unfortunately for him, we are not renting any (we are currently on the lookout for the right people to work in them).
Anyhoo, they left a few minutes later, unsure whether they would rent what they came to check out. He said it's not quite the size he imagined. But yeah, he and the husband were ecstatic to have met here, kinda unexpectedly.
