The smelliest thing I ever encountered while hiking was a two story outhouse at a trailhead in the Wasatch Mountains.
The outhouse had a stone base beneath a tradition outhouse. My guess is that they thought a two story outhouse would be easier to clean out. What they failed to realize is that the stink from the contents of the outhouse would permeate the stone.
A two story privy was picturesque but it was impossibe to get within a hundred feet of the structure without being knocked over from the fumes.
The Picture
I sketched a two story outhouse from my imagination. I remember that the outhouse had a sketchy stair case which I had a hard time imagining.
This next picture is a proof of art piece as I began to add ink.
This final image is the picture enhanced by Night Cafe. It didn't understand the quarter moon on the door but did a bang up job on the outhouse.
NOTE the ai image is a last minute add on. I just wanted to see how it enhanced the drawing.
