Around Metro Detroit, Belle Isle is the place to go for outdoors time. It offers a bit of everything, but the best part of the island is the Detroit River, which separates Canada and US, where people can watch huge freighters going by or fishing and boating.
I go to Belle Isle for the Conservatory, which houses so many different orchids and seasonal flowers. I can get lost there for hours taking pictures of them.
The landscape around the Conservatory is just beautiful to see during spring, summer and fall!
