Frog puru (Bufo melanostictus) is a species of toad common in South Asia. The species grows almost 20 cm. Descendants of the species during the rainy season and black tadpole. Young frogs can be seen in large numbers after the rainy season. This frog is widespread from India, the People's Republic of China south, Indochina to western Indonesia. In Indonesia, with the ride of human movement, these amphibians quickly spread (invaded) from island to island. Now bangkong kolong also been found in Bali, Lombok, Sulawesi and West Papua.
The underside of the collar is most often found around the house. Jumping short, this frog comes out of hiding under a pile of stones, wood, or in the corners of the kitchen at sunset; and return to its former location at dawn. Sometimes, the hiding place is inhabited by a group of large and small frogs; until 6-7 ekor.Bangkong is married in the pools, watering sewage ditok, or notbang, often on the night of full moon. Male frogs make a busy voice before and after the rain to call females, often until morning. It read: rrrk, ..rrrk, or ... oorek-orek-orekk! "(Anonimous, 2011).
At times like that, can be found several pairs up to dozens pairs of marbles that mate together in one pond. Often there is also a heavy physical competition between the male stall to fight the females, especially if females are much less. Therefore, the male will embrace his females tightly during the procession of his marriage. There are also occasional encounters of dead bodies that have been injured by the competition; wounds in the muzzle of a male animal, or a wound in the armpit of a female animal (Anonimous, 2010).
It seems that this frog has a close association with the human environment. From time to time, the underpock continues to expand its distribution area following human activities. Iskandar (1998) notes that this frog is never found in tropical rainforests.
