Every year I attempt one mini camping trip by myself. I think this was the 8th year. This time it was back to Brainard and Pawnee Campground. A new thing for me was being able to bring my Kayak. But parked next to me by the lake was this beautiful red canoe. It had just stopped raining, you could still hear the faint rolls of thunder in the distance. We hesitated to make sure the storm was really gone. There was a dreamlike quality about the water and the sky. Neither of them wanted anyone to forget they were the main actors on nature's stage right then. They had nothing to worry about. The boats were just incidental walk ons that day. But the red caught my eye.
