These are hardy country women who still have the will to work as farmers despite their advancing years. The primary occupation in this area is farming, which has been practiced for many generations.
How resilient are they? Here are some images that illustrate this event: an elderly woman was drying her harvested paddy in the scorching sun.
Hats are his mainstay for shelter from the hot sun. I think this hat is a silent witness to part of his long story as a farmer. Look how outdated that hat is!
And here is some paddy drying equipment. The traditionalist concept is still very strong and has become a hallmark of the countryside.
