Your brains are marvels creations , that controls every thing that happens in your body starting from a single cell to an organ , plus it is responsible for making you have fellings and see and , until now , us humans are not able to know how it works exactly . Our brain is made out of 2 hemispheres were they control the opposite side of the body so , the right hemisphere controls the left side of your body
In 1848 a famous accident knowen as The Gage Accident were a guy knowen as
Phineas Gage
was working in train station and he diged a whole and put some explosive with some train tracks ( iron bar ) after moments due to the lack of concentration the explosives explode and , the iron bar passed through his head ( the rod entered from his left cheekbone past his eyes and out from the top of his head )

But you will still remain asking how did he live with half a brain ??
The answer is that , he lost control of some his muscles on the left side as the right side of the brain was damaged but , after years his other side of the brain started to adapt and , control both sides alone
And now there are very rare surgerys were if a person has a cancer in his brain , they remove the infected side and people live with 1/2 a brain
