You can’t say the escape pod did not get you onto the ice planet alive and in one piece. As for itself, it is toast. There is no way it will be flying again. At least it put you near some caves that you can use in the event you have an emergency.
You get out of the escape pod and have a look around. At least the blizzard seemed to be heading far up north from here leaving you in decent weather conditions. As you take a few steps forward in snow that sinks ankle deep you hear this strange sound above you in the air.
You look up and there are these strange rotating metal disks a few times the size of busses. They start flying over the area. One of them shoots off what appears to be some sort of radar beam that starts scanning the pod itself.
You slowly start walking towards the cave hoping whatever these things are they do not notice you. For quite some time they don’t seem to care at all about you. They seem to be more interested in the pod.
Little known to you the escape pod had a tracking beacon on it. When you got in it and sat in the seat it activated not only the program that brought you safely down to this planet but the beacon itself. These aliens then picked up the signal and went to track why one of their abandoned pods had been activated.
After some time the scanning beam color changed to red and the escape pod lifted off the ground. The aliens were trackers beaming their pod up to their ship. This however took quite a while. It seems they were not quite equipped to hand an object that large.
Thankfully by the time a bay door opened and the pod went inside their ship you had made it into the cave. You snuck in and to your shock as soon as they retrieved the escape pod the ships flew away. You have no idea where they went. You are just glad they left you alone.
You waited a couple of hours inside the cave not daring to move just in case they were hanging out of eyesight. Once it seemed the coast was clear it was time to decide what you wanted to do next. You could explore the cave, head north through a tundra, or head south though another tundra.
