These oak galls are formed on the Quercus infectoria tree. They occur when wasps sting the oak tree and cause a reaction to forming these galls.

It possess antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

It has a wide range of uses from treating skin disorders to gastrointestinal disorders. It is also used in dyes and medicine.
