From our childhood, my brothers and I always had my father only on weekends. He worked in another city and we lived in another city, so we only saw him on the weekends when he came home from work on Friday night.

Once a month, he would come home announcing that Saturday and Sunday would be our day to go shopping. That day we all got up early and went all day on Saturday shopping in various supermarkets in the city and outside the city as well.

We always ended up eating fast food so we wouldn't come home cooking, sometimes pizza and sometimes hot dogs. But what we enjoyed most about that weekend was that we were all as a family, pushing a shopping cart through the aisles of one of our favorite supermarkets, where the owners knew my father and they were familiar faces to us.

That's what my drawing is about, how wonderful those weekends were when we all went out as a family to go shopping.

Happy weekend y'all!
