My Friend

Friendship is beautiful, so so beautiful, choosing that person or persons out of the billions of people and labeling them as “your own” and sticking with them is just remarkable.

I am so big on friendship and love, I can love anybody, I could love you just because you smell nice or you have a nice voice, crazy right? I know 🥰🥰

I have so many friends, many that over time I have lost count of them, a friend of mine calls me a whore because I love everybody hehehehe

In this friendship pool, I do have one person that stands out. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, without further ado, I present to you my best friend Ibifubara Iyaye, what did you notice?😉 the IB in my username and the IB in her name right? Well, I am Ibinabo and she is Ibifubara, amazing right? That’s not the only similarity though, we sound alike, we are of the same size, and looked a bit alike back then but the only difference was that she’s dark skinned and I am a bit light.

I was called IB1 and she was IB2 because I’m the eldest one lolz the friendship was really serious trust me.

In High school, people were literally confused with our names as we were both called IB.

I met my darling friend the first week I made my way to High school, little me back then was lost in a pool of kids that just left elementary school, and a brief conversation by the staircase gave birth to a long-lasting friendship.

We’ve laughed, cried, quarreled, reconciled, and been mischievous together, what’s friendship without these elements though?

It’s been an amazing ride with my friend, having someone who just gets you, you don’t have to say much, they decode everything. We could go weeks without talking to each other but when we do it’s heavenly as the only thing that can interrupt our call is maybe one of us battery is low.

My friendship with Ibifubara has stood the test of time, funny how we’ve not seen each other for like two years now but it feels like we are neighbors, she’s the one person I can call to do the most foolish thing in this world and she'd do it😂😂, we are our own relationship therapist😂😂 as we know the history of all the guys that have existed or is currently existing in our lives so we just know the right advice to give each other😂😂

I guess we all have that ‘saviour complex’ when we are with our friends or people that we love, I was the fighter and she was the calm one, her soft heart would always permit her to let go of rubbish back then but I the James Bond and Jackie Chan would always confront anyone who dares to annoy my friend even though I knew for a fact that I did not have the strength to fight if the need arises but of course, my mouth was my weapon, it was always sharp to dish out everything that I felt, good thing I didn’t meet my waterloo as I kept on narrowly escaping😂😂😂 but either way I did stand up for my friend in so many ways but now the reverse is the case as Ibifubara is now the tough one and me the calm one, talk about the irony of life, all I can say is I raised her well🥰🥰

Quarreling? Oh boy, we’ve done so many of those and people did not fail to notice it, one time our teacher made us hug in front of the whole class because she discovered we were not on speaking terms with each other.

My friend is one of the smartest people I have ever met, I call her “my first class” which of a truth she is as she actually graduated with a first class.

With all these beautiful qualities I have listed, she does have a bad side too, c’mon were you thinking she was perfect? Far from it my darlings🥰🥰 she has are own flaws. One thing I dislike about her is her ‘I don’t care’ attitude which she switches to any time she wants to be annoying and her phone is always on ‘Do not disturb’, I don’t know the people that she doesn’t want to disturb her but I always scold her, in her defense she said she has call anxieties and she was even the one that explained what that meant but she’s still a work in progress though😃😃

We’ve gone past the whole friendship thingy as we are now sisters, sisters for life and we both can’t wait to give the epic toast of all time at our weddings as we narrate all the relationship baggage we’ve had to deal with before finding the ‘right one’.

I love my dearest Ibifubara always and forever, take me back to before we met I would still choose her. No matter how many people I meet, no matter how many friends I make she’d always be my no.1 but when my hubby comes into the picture she’d just have to be no.2, sorry love 😂😂
