Hi everyone hope you are all doing well! Sharing with you today some practice gesture drawings of various subjects I have been doing as part of my drawing practice.
Drawing a portrait from life in various angles.
Practicing drawing a mannequin from various angles that pushed my comfort zone by angles I had not drawn before such as looking down.
Quick gesture drawing of someone sitting in a pose.
Some more mannequin drawing practice. I used the mannequin when there is no person to practice from.
This is a right angled study exercise. This means I viewed the model from the front but drew them from the side and then checked how accurate I was after. This one is my brother lying on the sofa on his phone.
A stretching pose.
Pose of someone sitting down having a rest.
These are some quick gesture drawings which prepare me for the longer studies that I will share with you in future. The key for these drawings is to have movement with the pen/pencil and not to make them look too rigid.
