Not feeling too well last night, I went to bed early at 1:30am. Mary stayed up to check family happenings on Facebook.
Waking up at intervals throughout the night, in pain. I have a hernia following an operation seven years ago, when we were living in Australia. Unable to work, I had no choice, I had to return to New Zealand. Just something I have to accept; when I carry heavy items, my body will remind me later not to carry heavy items!
A phrase I coined a decade or so ago: pain is just your body telling you you're still alive.
Man, I'm sooo alive right now, I want to dance through the air and drift outside! Thankfully, the windows are shut as Wellington got hit yesterday by a very cold and icy blast from Antarctica. Winter suffering now that spring has sprung here in the southern climes. Yep, guess we had to feel winter's pain that time!
Getting up at 8:30am, well past my usual 7:15am leap of faith.
Finally, a few hours later, I'm on steemd. Time to check my status, and reciprocate the activity on my postings. Right, done that, and followed a few new upvoters too (nice!). Now, across to CTPtalk and the tribe I'm in. Into the main feed and what's this? A couple of interestingly headed blogs so check them out and upvote. Reminder to self: make my blog headings much more eye-catching!
"Stranger Things", wow, that's a must-read one right there! I've become a fan of @bradleyarrow. He consistently upvotes me, and even regularly leaves a comment just so I know he reads what I submit. A real nice guy, he is. A champion fellow, so I reciprocate.
Reading his blog, this one a story about sharing. That's awesome, just the way I'm feeling right now. Yes, sharing the pain! Reading on, hmmm, negative feelings, real Midas touch stuff. He could rant on about these feelings yet he turns them around and starts thanking people for motivating and uplifting him. Reminds me of another phrase I coined a few years back when faced with a seemingly impossible situation: turn it around.
Yes, I was right, definitely a champion fellow!
Too easy to let one's negative feelings slide, and draw you down, deeply down into that pit of despair: depression. Much better to snap out of it, turn around whatever is making you feel melancholy, re-focus, and create.
Create! That's right, I've got a blog to write and get posted. Better to get on to that right now. Hmm, I want to share my pain. I know, I'll touch a nerve, a raw nerve, and inflame that a little, to send a message to the brain, oh the pain: depression.
Don't worry about a thing...
