Have you ever read a series of books where a new author has taken over the series from the old author? Was the new author as good as the original?

But I read the comment by @jaff8 and it seems checking out the books would be a nice thing to do.

I read short stories that have been completed by authors different than those who started them. They are mostly chain fiction.

Are the new authors better? Sometimes. Most times the new authors just pick an angle and follow up. But I typically enjoy old authors more than new ones, especially when the new ones fail to capture the essence of the original story
