SELF WORTH
Today I saw something amazing on the internet. The picture above captured my mind though lot of people criticized her because of the color of her skin, some recommended bleaching creams and lot more but the most amazing of them all is the person that nicknamed her queen of the dark, sincerely checking the picture closely you'll see that she's really a queen. She neglected all the critics and stood her ground by breakingdown the barriers of conventional beauty and encouraging others to do the same.
The 24-year-old African model and fashion icon, who now lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has no shame about her melanin, and she makes sure the world is aware. According to her "My chocolate is elegant. So is what I represent… A nation of warriors." I learnt from her a great lesson: it doesnt matter the noise around you, be yourself don't let anyone put you down, don't beat yourself too hard! You are who You are and there's no perfect resemblance nor can there be a replacement for you. Maybe what you possess is exclusive to you alone and can change the world, but how would you make that change if you shy away from it.
I studied special education for three good years and my area of specialization was teaching the visually impaired learner, especially the adventitiously blind (students that became blind later in life ) first thing to do for them, is to teach them how to adjust to their new way of life and make them accept who they are because if they don't accept it they become weak, difficult to teach, It becomes difficult for them to grow and some attempt suicide. The picture above and her courage is a motivation for all. When others criticize you, let them know you love who you are and convince them to accept even if they do not understand you. Accept and appreciate who you are, make the best of your personality while ensuring that you continue to strive for change of unpleasant traits....
Behaviors that are unacceptable cannot be considered as who you are, it doesn't matter if you were brought up with an unruly behavior you owe it to you, your society and the world to become a better version of your character, bring out the best you can from yourself and from others around you by learning to embrace your good behaviors and changing the bad ones. Regardless of the kind of hand the world deals you, always prepare yourself to return a good hand and be the healing balm that the world needs dearly....
