Bringing back old memories, our forefathers lived in peace and harmony among themselves.
Ranging from the family, our forefathers married as much wives as they desired not minding the responsibilities. They also gave birth to children as much as possible and they all lived together in peace despite being a polygamous family.
Polygamous marriage in the ancient days is a thing of pride and prestige.
But talking about polygamous marriage in modern days, things cannot be compared to the way they were in the olden days.
Polygamous marriage is no more encouraged in our society. Due to weakness and inability to manage our affairs, even monogamous marriage breaks down where either of the couple will files for divorce even some months after the joining. Most of the ladies, due to weakness of character cannot cope nor endure with a man for a long period of time all because of what they see on social media.
They compare their marriage with someone else's. They want to live a luxurious life not minding the family they even came from. They are so choosy and picky.
Not to be one-sided, the men also have their fault in today's marriage divorce. Some men are too authoritative, they believe they are the head and neglect their wife's opinion, which is wrong.
Before anything can be decided, the wife should be informed so that she won't feel unwanted but today's men are not like that. This is one of the reasons why marriages breakdown.
These are the frailties in marriage.
For a marriage to be peaceful and long lasting. The couple have to be united.
Unity strengthens relationship. When there is unity, there will be less emphasis on frailty. The only thing that will be focused on is the progress of the family.
Unity is not limited to family and marriage alone. It's also needed among the communities, organizations, religious settings, tribes, countries and among the nations.
Gone are the days when we have different types of marriage e.g monogamy, polygamy, extended family but even the monogamy is no longer unique, humans have become weak, love was supposed to make us strong together but we're now using it against one another. When you love nowadays people see you as been too weak. They see you as a stupid person, even your partner sees you as a fool just because you show him or her love.
To demonstrate love to someone in the society as become so hard that people don't want to ever fall in love again. I have seen many of my friends who cried many times because of their love life.
The only thing that can eradicate weakness and restore love to our society is acceptance and unity and focus less on our flaws and weaknesses.
When there's unity, peace and harmony will be felt and we will focus less on our frailty.
