All Eyes On Me is an interesting song and it's kind of hard to understand it outside of the Netflix special that it is in. There are really two themes going on in it. First, you have to understand his story of his 5 year break for mental health only to re-emerge in a time period where the pandemic is taking away his ability to actually re-emerge. Second, he fully gives into the notion that not only is the world ending, but that it already did end. It just hasn't caught up to us yet. He hints towards global warming, but it connects heavily with the feeling during COVID that nothing is ever going to go back to being the same and that the time period for things to get better has already passed. That's where the themes collide in an interesting nihilistic notion that focusing on himself is inherently selfish in the face of the end of the world and caving fully into a hopelessness of it getting better. It's a heavy song that peaks the themes of his Netflix special. I love it for what it does and it turns out that it stands on it's own outside of the special.

Oh, and I absolutely adore Sigur Ros. I need to listen to them more.
