Is insanity aptly named? Yes.
I remember when it's predecessor was new.
P-90X.
Yep, didn't buy that one either.
But I did pirate it from some site so I could check it out.
My ex wife loved to work out at home.
She was a budding super dance choreographer and fitness enthusiast.
Even did a figure show one time.
Well, once I had downloaded it and printed the "diet" that came with it, I sat her down in the living room of the condo we had inherited from her father, and we popped it into whatever computer we had at the time, oh wait, yeah, it was the Microsoft minitower when I had the super de-duper wireless Logitech remote keyboard. Straight into the huge led tv.
It was no wonder that was when I started really drinking a lot. That huge LED tv.
Thanks for helping me remember with this writing therapy.
Well, we had a quick watch.
She had a dumbbell, a chair, a yoga mat, and whatever else they needed.
But, I gave her one order.
And she always did what I said when it came to diet and training.
"You can only do 1/3 of any of the stuff they do in each workout segment"
See, even p90 was way too much volume for anyone that was not eating like a champ and definitely way too much for someone starving on their "diet" that was outlined.
So, insanity is just there next level psycho style workout that supposedly will "sweat the pounds off you" and get you right "shredded up."
Save your money.
What you will get is a thinner wallet.
Oh, you might also lose some weight. You could even get insanely shredded.
And then, one day, you won't do that workout.
You won't be able too.
You will be really tired and probably bored of it as well to top off all the psychosis.
Unless you had a solid workout routine and diet in place like my ex did.
See, she used the ol' p90 for a while every day.
A month maybe?
Hard to tell, but, she never stopped going to do her regular workouts see?
She was using it for diversity.
You know, to break up the monotony.
Learn something new.
So every once in a while, she would fire up the computer or Xbox, toss in the dvd and throw down with whatshisname and get a good sweat on.
She even used a few of the moves with clients and classes she taught later after she became a personal trainer.
But, and see all the butts? That's right, she was a highly motivated, dance machine, workout lifestyle girl.
She was married to a competitive bodybuilder and she also ate a dozen eggs a day and a pound of bacon. Her doctor approved.
She was already fit and had the daily routine down pat.
That's where it's at.
So, will it work for you?
Why not give it a try before you buy first.
Then, if you don't get the results they say you will have, you can just chuck it in the ol' DVD rack until the next time you feel the diet insanity come over you.
And then do a bit more insanity.
Short answer: it could help you lose some pounds. It won't be permanent unless you are completely ocd about it and never stop the insanity. And yeah, you have to have a proper diet. Exercise alone won't ever work.
