What if you woke up one day sobbing because for quite long time you have understood “I love you.” in a context differently from what the speaker would mean.

“I love you.” is a statement that could simply be part of your language. You might be a person who easily can utter it to people around you. On the other hand, some might really have a hard time speaking it out loud because of the fear of people’s reactions.

Furthermore, I think that the impact of this statement is determined by one’s relationship to the speaker. The closer the relationship the greater the bearing is. Yes, it matters a lot who speaks the love, but it’s worth double on how we understand and live the “I love you."

Maybe you have tried too hard- performing or saying yes, even you’re supposed to say no just to feel like you’re accepted. Or to be more honest, you tried too hard not to disappoint people around you, so you can secure their “I love you.”

But the big question is, do you really need to try too hard to be “loved”? What if the truth is they love you deep down – that if you just open their hearts your tons of striving doesn’t even change their love. Even when you fail, even when you say no because you have to they still love you. Yes, not all might be that sincere, but there are those who truly love. Those are people who love you not because you perform well, but because they just love you.

To end, man’s love towards us may change, but there is a lover who says, “I love you,” He does not hold back his love from you. He stays with you even before you have known him. He is ever loyal. His love is never measured on how great you do perform. He loves you no matter how many times you fail or failed him. His patience working in your life is a crystal clear indication of his unconditional love for he is not giving up on you. That’s what the “I love you.” means. He doesn’t only love you but he is love Himself.

The speaker whispers,  “Never is my love based on how well you perform. Stop striving, remember that you are worth far more than what you can or have to do. I love YOU! "
