Scene 3. Int Night.
Inside the hospital. The butler and the male servants are sitting at the Reception and they have been treated.
The maids and Mama are inside a ward getting treatment, while Richard paced endlessly in the corridor clasping, hitting the wind and cursing under his breath.
Just then the doctor comes out.
Richard:- [Rushes to meet the doctor] What happened doctor? How is my wife?
Doctor:- She will be fine..., let's go to my office and talk... [turns to start moving away].
Richard:- That is miles away doctor, [he barked], We can talk here, getting to your office won't change the news. Just tell me.
Doctor:- *[Sighs] Your wife's condition is one that I cannot fully explain. Right now, she is unconscious and it seems she has drifted far into a deep state of no return. She was terribly mauled..., I mean you saw her and the amount of blood she lost. And haa..., I think you just have to take it easy and take it in good fate.
Richard:- [Sighs deeply] I do not know what to be scared of, you giving me the creeps or my wife's predicament.
Doctor:- I sorry sir, its just that your wife will never be the same again. Her mental and emotional state has seriously been battered and we have to wait for her to regain consciousness before we can fully diagnose her.
Richard:- [his face tightens] Good heavens, who would do this evil to anther human being? What kind of evil is this?
Doctor:- It is an unfortunate incident sir, but you have to be brave for her. I suggest you go home and rest, I will have your other member of staff and your mother released. *[He walks away].
Richard walks into Amanda's ward and as he looks at her struggling between life and death while hanging to life support, the beeping, the red, orange and blue lights, and the silent whizzing of the machine, he slumps down and broke into uncontrollable sobs.
