Con Ga Church in Da Nang - Peaceful place in the middle of Da Nang City

At the end of the year, we are probably all busy, trying to solve all the unfinished things of the old year to prepare for the new year and welcome new things. Another year is about to pass, do you have any plans or plans that have not been implemented yet? As for me, the plans are unfinished, the trips cannot be done because the Covid pandemic is still going on and has not shown any signs of abating. On the last day of this year, I choose for myself a holiday to return to my family, to gather together at the family tray, with my parents, brothers, and sisters to welcome the new year.

And today, on a special day, the last day of the year, and we are about to enter a new year, I would like to introduce to you a beautiful place in Da Nang city, where I live and work, it's Con Ga Church, which attracts a lot of domestic tourists as well as foreign tourists every time they come here. And I had the opportunity to visit it more than a week ago, on the day going to celebrate Christmas.
Da Nang is a coastal city in central Viet Nam, where nature is endowed with perfect landscapes with ravishing beaches, voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with the mighty Hai Van Pass reach out to the sea, with Son Tra peninsula and preserved pristine ecosystem, with large bridges and beautiful crossing over the poetic Han River, all create a city worth living in Da Nang, attracts a lot of domestic and foreign tourists to visit in all seasons of the year, and is the place where I have been for a long time to study and work until now, more than 11 years.
Da Nang Con Ga Church (English name is Rooster Church) which I will introduce below, also has many other names such as Da Nang cathedral church, Sacred Heart of Jesus church, at 156 Tran Phu, Hai Chau 1 ward, district Hai Chau. Because this place is located right in the center of Da Nang city, the parish is always crowded, very convenient for tourists to visit when traveling in this beautiful coastal city. Con Ga Church owns a very special beauty, much more prominent than other buildings in this city, which is the architecture of France and its outstanding color, which is pink. Con Ga Church was built in 1923 and inaugurated in 1924, is the only church built in Da Nang city during the French colonial period and has a Gothic architecture with extremely classic characteristics of the public church western religion.
The name Con Ga Church is also very special, on the top of the church, there is a small rooster made of alloy. According to the stories of the Christians, the rooster is the animal that predicts the weather for the people, whichever direction the rooster turns, the weather there will be favorable. So the name of this church is associated with that interesting story, which is also easy to remember for everyone who comes here. The main architecture of this church is French colonial architectural style, with soaring lines, cross shape, about 70m high, oval arches, delicate lines, and patterns at the door and pillar the columns are very clever, symmetrical with each other, creating new features of Western architecture in this Eastern land on the inside of the church are hung pictures and illustrated icons arranged according to the Western Congregational Catholic Church.
When entering the church, you will feel a spiritual and dignified atmosphere, your soul will be relaxed as if all the sorrows of the world have been removed, a very peaceful feeling. The surrounding courtyard of the church is very large, with green trees interspersed, arranged with different grounds of Jesus and Maria. In front of the building, there are two very large stone statues, as if protecting and protecting this place. Behind the church is the grotto of Maria, built according to the model of the Lourdes cave in France, with a peaceful and very sacred feature.
Currently, the church has been allowed to open freely to welcome tourists everywhere to visit and admire this unique architecture, and not only for Christians, but this place is also very popular, attracting domestic and foreign tourists every time they come to Da Nang by its architecture and lovely pink color, it can give you great photos with any corner of the building. Foreign tourists, especially Korean and Japanese tourists, love this place.
On every Christmas occasion, this place is decorated very splendidly and beautifully, even those who are Catholic or not to visit, visit and take pictures. You can visit this place on weekdays or holidays, and especially on holidays, you can participate in countless solemn ritual activities, cultural shows, fun dancing, and singing performed by the locals organized church.
