Yea I didn’t really change that much when I lost this person. I grew up quite a bit in some capacity, but I’m still me, I’m still here.

I don’t think we should judge people generally. Like really just judging people is a waste of time.

If someone losses someone and becomes abusive I wouldn’t judge it but I will distance myself from that person. People who take out their personal problems on other people have bigger issues than just the loss and I can’t fix peoples problems.

I agree with you that the rally car and watering holes aren’t marketing. That is more like brand building. Oddly enough, Wendy’s sponsors a NASCAR. Little TradFi community overlap there 😆

Wendy’s is not sponsoring a NASCAR to make people hungry for their food, they are doing it to show people they are a big brand.

I think marketing the chain is challenging for a lot of reasons. Not impossible, but challenging.

Like I do not think we should market the whole chain like some giant product. It’s too confusing.

Marketing should be targeted based on the application or use case and the audience that will use that use case.

Here are some examples I’m just thinking of as a lay around being lazy 🤣

Examples:

  1. We should market Splinterlands to people who are passionate about Web 3.0 gaming
  2. We should market Splinterlands trading cards to people who love trading cards but are not necessarily passionate about Web 3.0
  3. We should market our front ends blog form to people who love to blog
  4. We should market our front ends short form content to people who love short form content (people on Twitter for example)
  5. We should market the no fees, fast transactions, and the fact that nothing can be deleted here to businesses that would need cost effective databases.

These are just ideas. Like nothing in particular is an idea I’m married too or something I’m saying we should do. But my point is, if we are going to do marketing, it should be targeted. Like who is the target customer and for what application?

Bit of a ramble response on my end, but my point is, “we need more marketing” is not really actionable. We need to identify the target customer and then identify the most cost effective way to market to them.

Also, I think the users probably need to market the chain better too. Like we as users can come up with marketing campaigns. Not everything the user base does has to go through the DHF or leverage the reward pool.

I also think us getting on CEXs and DEXs are different things and not marketing. Like us trying to get on CEXs and DEXs is more about staying up to speed with the broader crypto market and just making sure people have access to buy HIVE in the first place.
