My Hive Journey One Month In

I am Carlos Lynnard Gervacio Mercolino, a 20-year-old aspiring writer from the Philippines. I am currently studying a Civil Engineering course at Central Mindanao University in Bukidnon. And although I enrolled in an engineering course, my passion is entirely different.

I have always dreamt of earning money at a young age to help my parent pay their bills and become financially independent while still at college. Like my previous blogs mention, I've tried several side hustles such as trading and even researched dropshipping and Amazon FBA. I quickly knew that this was not for me; I never had a passion for those things.

Then I reflected on myself.

I knew I loved writing poems and articles, and this started my journey as a writer.

I started writing for clients in several freelancing jobs and even earned a decent amount from it. But it just did not feel right.

I wanted to write articles from my heart and not from google- based topics made to be optimized for SEO and all these things.

Then while being quarantined, I stumbled upon an article about Hive, where writers could earn money by writing blogs and sharing their stories to thousands of Hivers from all around the world, so I gave it a shot.

Knowing absolutely nothing about Hive, I struggled a lot. There were lots of information to be digested and lots of things to remember and keep, such as Hive passwords and the use of different platforms such as Ecency and Peakd.

After researching quite a bit, my Hive journey was much smoother, and I was pretty happy to share my stories, even though it did not earn a lot, nor was it read by many Hivers. But I knew that persistence was the key to my success.

No success ever comes easy or fast.

Then tons of people came to my aid. These people were the ones I came to ask for help and tips in my Hive journey; they helped me get up and see the potential of Hive and helped me get to my dreams. To @galenkp, @wesphilbin, @glecerioberto, and to many others who gave me their expert advice me. I would like to thank you all personally.

To @purepinay, thank you so much for always taking the time to answer all my questions regarding Hive. You have given me tons of help regarding the do's and dont's in Hive. And thank you so much for giving me the privilege to join your community.

I would also like to take the time to thank the tons of amazing bloggers from the Philippines that I've interacted with online, such as @asasiklause, @explorewithsasha, @gerel, @itsmiessyonpeakd, @swaycanete, @sassycebuana, and many more who welcomed me here on Hive, your guys' help made my first-month journey here on Hive much more enjoyable.

If it weren't for these people, I would have never gotten to where I am now.

I will continue to do my best, to publish and create more quality content of my choosing. And once I also become successful as a blogger on Hive, I will do my absolute best to help other newbies get to their dreams and aid them in becoming triumphant in the long run.
