My experience is to being chops, in the from of dry unhulled rice to be milled into rice. There are many rice mill in each village to serve people who want to grind rice.
As I visited at a rice mill that has been established since 1984, many of these rice mills grind rice from small volumes to large volumes.
This mill is on the side of the road and easy to access, the place is spacious there is a yard for drying the rice grains, inside the rice milling room there are several rice grinding machines.
Such as a motor with a diesel engine to drive a rice milling machine, a grain peeler or breaker, a grain separator, a raching machine, and a rice washer.
Rice milling is still carried out with the power of people to transport the unhulled rice to the mill. It the mill already user a machine, a combination of power and engine.
Unhulled rice is ground to separate the rice husk from rice, if only the husk is remove, the result is rice, if the bran is removed along with the husk, the result is white rice.
Then after the rice is milled into rice, the yield of rice is weighed to find out how much it loses from unhulled rice to rice. Thank you.
