You know about Bitcoin? Do you know a miner and his role? You know a miner mines the Bitcoins from a supercomputer running a complex calculation. What you don’t know is that there is a finite amount of Bitcoins. One speculation is that there are about 21 million of them. So far 12 million or there about have been mined. How do miners exactly do it? They run mining programs on a supercomputer running a complex arithmetic calculation. Their work is not necessarily to mine but to make sure that the Bitcoins being traded are authentic. They do this by using their mining computers to authenticate transactions and prevent a rip off. Of course, a fee needs to be paid. From research and survey, Bitcoin miners have earned over $2 billion since 2009 when it came into being.
