Today we are going to talk about tube amps. Tube amps are so fun to play and they are really load but if you own a tube amp you have to take a very good care of it to maintain the clean pristine sound.
Before I start to talk about the amp maintenance I want to point out the amount of watts that amps have.
Tube amps can color the sound and by color I mean they can add saturation and compression to the signal so there is a sweet spot that the amp has the most liner performance means it won’t color the signal.
If you have bigger amps which has 200 watts you are going to get a bigger amount of linearity that means you can turn the volume up without any coloration that can be good or bad.
If you want to have some power amp distortion without disturbing your neighbors you going to need smaller watt amps but if you are looking for more linearity then you need higher watt amps.
So amps may have tubes in preamp section or power amp section or both. If any of tubes turn bad you will hear the drastic change in tone and performance of the amp it’s called broken tube or broken tube sound.
To fix the problem you need to identify the broken tube then replace it with a new fresh tube make sure to burn in the tube before usage to get the optimum performance.
AMP maintenance:
One of the most important thing that effects your amp tone is the amount of time you let the tubes to warm up the optimum amount is mints before you start to play if you do this you going to get a very warm tone that we all looking for in the tube amps
