Revolt Patchable Synth interface

Okay, this one landed yesterday and it is Warsaw Wave's first synth, after three years of work. Revolt Patchable Synth puts everything on one page and then lets you rearrange it. You pick your panels, you route things how you want, and you are not stuck with one fixed signal path. That idea alone got me curious, because most synths make you learn their layout. This one lets you build your own.

Under the hood you get four oscillator slots with analog style sounds, wavetables and noise, plus FM, feedback and hard sync. Two multimode filters can run in series or parallel, and there are eight modulation slots for envelopes, LFOs and noise LFOs, with a mod matrix that follows your edits on screen. Four macros with MIDI learn round it out, and four effects slots you can reorder, with reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, distortion and bitcrushing. The team claims over 800 million panel combinations, which sounds wild, but even a fraction of that is plenty of room to get lost in a good way.

The part I would actually use first is the randomization. You can choose which parameters to include or exclude, set the strength, and randomize groups while keeping the core of a patch intact. For industrial stuff that is gold. Start with a nasty bass, randomize around the edges, and suddenly you have ten variations that still hit hard. It also plays mono or poly with unison, glide and an arpeggiator, and it responds to velocity, aftertouch, mod wheel and MPE. You can even save a different color scheme and panel style per instance, so your bass can look nothing like your lead.

One more honest bit: there is a free version that stays free forever, with two oscillator slots, four modulators, one filter and two effects, and presets still save and recall. The full version also has a 7 day trial with everything turned on. Windows VST3 and standalone, macOS AU, VST3 and standalone, and Linux VST3, LV2 and standalone, though the Linux build is experimental.

Price: $59 intro (regular $89) until November 11, 2026, with a permanent free version and a 7 day full trial.
