The defining characteristic of the EMX-1 is its "Valve Force" circuitry. Two 12AX7 vacuum tubes sit at the end of the signal chain, allowing users to dial in harmonic distortion and analog warmth that smooths out the digital edges of its synth engine. This feature, combined with a highly tactile interface featuring 16 step-sequence keys and numerous dedicated knobs, makes it a favorite for live performers who prioritize real-time manipulation over deep menu diving.
