This simply means when a person is Outstanding or superior to an exceptionally or unusually high degree, among the best in its class, but not perfect or ultimate. ... Many people quickly assume that being a good leader means you're a good manager and vice versa.
*One of the main qualities of an excellent person is high standards. They require the best performance. They always seek to better themselves. They don’t accept to just be good, but the best, and know that the best of today is the good of tomorrow. Such individual doesn’t lose focus of his/her competitors, but they’re not the reason why he/she is motivated. He/She knows that letting him/herself be guided by the competition is not to lead. The main opponent is him/herself. His/Her targets are dictated by the standards he/she determines.*
The question has a double meaning.
(1) What are the qualities that make people excellent? (2) what does an excellent person do?
*These are two very important questions that you should ask yourself if you want to be on top of the mountain...*
Clearly, the outstanding quality that dictates an excellent person’s behavior is

They accept criticism as a method of help.
