Finding the minimalist community has been a great experience for me so far and though I can't say I was much of a minimalist when I found this community because funny enough I had a very little idea of what being a minimalist is but now I can say I know just enough of who a minimalist is. If you've been following up my blog to the community, you will notice that all of them are my response to the weekly blogging ideas #kiss and these ideas have helped me understand so much of the benefits of little efforts towards making our planet a better place to live in.
I remember there were some blogging ideas that I couldn't take part in because I had limited idea about them so I just preferred to read from others to learn and most especially know the reason why it is important for me to have the knowledge of that week's idea because I've come to realize that most of the blogging ideas are beneficial to helping us know how to live in a way that will be helpful to ourselves and also our environment as well, so I don't take any of them for granted. So far so good I've been able to attempt about 7-9 blogging ideas and for every one I write on, I get more knowledge on how to be a good minimalist.
I know you might be wondering why I'm stressing on these things, well it's easy, I'm just trying to let us know the importance of having knowledge, having an idea of what something is and what it's not. For this week's blogging idea, we were asked to share our minimalist practice that helps to reduce climate change. I've been trying to think of what I do to reduce climate change and I saw this question in another way but also in line with the idea.
Recently, here in my country we've been experiencing a lot of climate changes and this is due to human actions that are unhealthy to our ozone layer and our environment in general. Human actions like indiscriminate cutting down of trees and setting up huge structures, continuous use of smoking vehicles and other machines and so on. All of these activities of humans are something that started little by little because we easily tend to neglect things thinking it does not matter when it actually does.
Keeping my environment clean is one thing I enjoy doing because by so doing, it will be difficult for someone to want to do anything rubbish in it even though they end up doing it. At home, I always like providing a place where we can trash our waste so I can dispose them properly. One thing I always encourage is looking for a proper place to dispose waste as most people don't really care how they do that, all the care about is the fact that they are no longer having that waste with them which means they can easily drop it anywhere even when it is clearly stated not to dump refuse there.
I think the best way I'm helping to reduce climate change is properly disposing waste but then I think the major problem we are facing today is that a lot of people are ignorant of some of these things and that's why I appreciate ideas like this to create awareness which for me is the best way to reduce climate change because when we have good knowledge of the effects of our actions on our environment, we will try even better to keep it safe and when we have the knowledge of what to do and how to do it, then it will be easier for us to not fall victim of endangering our planet because of our ignorance.
There is so much to do and only few are ready but then I want to sincerely plead with you reading this now to do that little thing you can than not doing anything at all and before you know it everyone will be doing something to contribute to the betterment of our planet and help in reducing our climate change. Always bear in mind that nothing good comes easy but that doesn't stop it from coming, so be intentional about how you keep your environment clean and try to get a better place to dispose your waste if you don't have any.
This is my little contribution to this week's blogging idea and I hope you don't just read this without trying to act on it. And feel free to ask questions if you have any and also do well to leave your beautiful contribution, they are all welcomed.
Until next time, stay AWESOME!!!
