This is a brilliant point you've pointed out. So many times we think that saying no is a sin or something very bad but that is not true at all. Giving is something noble that we all should be practicing but then we should know when to give all and save some.
Truly, I do believe that there are some situations that requires us sometimes to give all that we have but that rarely happens. What we see most of the time like you pointed out is people being emotionally blackmailed of their hard earned money all in the name of giving.
One thing we fail to realize is that once we go broke whether or not we love those people, we can't be of help to them again. We have to make sure our wealth is strong enough to last and if that means saying no sometimes, then so be it.
Don't reck your financial life all in the name of giving because once that happens you will be stranded and you won't be able to give again.
