We were invited weeks ago by the grandma of my kid’s classmate for the First birthday celebration of my kid’s classmate’s brother, and the celebration was today.
I was excited since I had never been to a birthday celebration of a friend since living in this place. I don’t have many friends here as I usually just stay at home.
I’m glad that since my kid started school, I’ve been able to make some friends.

The celebration was scheduled exactly at lunchtime, so when my kid’s class finished at 10:15 in the morning, it was still too early for us to proceed to the celebration. I decided to drop by the health center first for a check-up, as I had been experiencing pain when I pee, and my urine was always little and painful. I think my UTI is attacking again.
There were many people in line, so it took a while before it was my turn. When it was finally my turn, they requested a urine lab test, and the result would take about 1–2 hours.

Since the waiting time for the result was long, I decided to proceed to the celebration first and come back for the result after.
We rode a motorela and it only took 10 minutes to arrive at the celebration place.
I was glad the celebration hadn’t started yet because they were still waiting for the lechon to arrive. Birthdays and celebrations here in our country are incomplete without the main dish-the lechon. People here usually look for it or ask, “Will they have lechon?” 😂 whenever there’s a celebration, and it’s often what makes them attend.

It took about 30 minutes of waiting before the lechon finally arrived. Once it did, the celebration started. First, they opened with a prayer, then sang a birthday song for the celebrant, and immediately after, everyone began eating since it was already late and people were hungry.

There were also treats for the kids-piñata and ilog-ilog-and my kid was very happy because he grabbed a lot of treats for himself.

While eating, I gave a small money gift to the celebrant. Earlier at the mall, I wasn’t sure what gift to buy since I was worried he might not enjoy it, so I decided to give money instead so he could buy what he wanted.
We ate, relaxed for a while, and I also had a nice talk with my friend about school since they were absent because of the celebration.

While we were talking, she encouraged me to bring home some pasalubong-lechon and macaroni-for my husband. I was very happy and placed it in a party bag since they didn’t have extra plastic to use. We stayed there for about 2 and a half hours before deciding to head back to the health center for my urine result.

Unfortunately, while at the center, it rained and I forgot to bring an umbrella. I just hoped it would stop before we went home.

The result of my urine test showed an infection, which means my UTI is high. They prescribed me antibiotics for 7 days, and I will need to go back again for another check-up to see if the UTI is gone.

After everything, we went home, glad that the rain had stopped.

We just walked home since it only takes about 10 minutes on foot.
While walking and passing across the road near the building where my husband works, I heard someone calling my name loudly-it was my husband. He signaled with his hands for us to come up, and I wanted to refuse since I was in a rush and still needed to prepare for my evening work. But out of respect, and since his co-workers were looking at us too, I dropped by for a moment at his office.

While walking up to the second floor, I noticed a bird nesting in the corner of the building. I was amazed at how the nest was holding up-it seemed like it was stuck with just a little bit of cement. Then, I proceeded to the office.

That’s why my husband was calling me, because they were having snack time and eating pancit bihon. In our country, we usually share pancit as a snack and invite others to eat-it’s like a small celebration food even when there’s nothing to celebrate 😂.
We didn’t stay long. I only ate a little pancit since I was still full from the birthday celebration. After that, we continued walking home.

That’s all for today’s busy day. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.
