CHAPTER 13. 기록되지 않은 기억은 유통기한이 짧다 [Unrecorded memory has a short circulation]

서점을 자주 가던 시절이 있었다. 그 때 만났던 말이 저 말이다. ‘기록되지 않은 기억은 유통기한이 짧다.’ 단편적인 기억에 의존하는 인간에게 기록은 그때의 추억을 떠올리게 하고, 잘못했던 일들을 되새기는 역할을 한다. 또한 뒤죽박죽 섞여 잘못된 기억으로 남지 않도록. 나중 일을 돌이켜봤을 때 기록 하나가 갖는 가치는 말 할 수 없이 크다.

내가 이 말을 꺼내는 이유는 기록에 의한 사실이 진정한 믿음과 사실로서의 가치를 갖는다는 것이다. 비트코인 이하 알코인들이 하락하고 스팀과 스팀달러가 저 땅 끝까지 뚫고 내려가고 있는 오늘, 기록된 기억에 의한 믿음에 의지하고자 발버둥을 치고 있다.

매년 신년 초에 롤러코스터를 타고 급등했다는 대장주인 비트코인의 움직임을 기다려보기로 했다. (이 사실은 다른 누군가가 기록해 놓은 기억임에 믿고 따라가 보려 한다.)

원래 오늘 쓰려던 글은 이것이 아니었다. 하지만 쓰던 글을 잠시 미뤄두고 오늘의 기억을 기록해보려 한다. 나중에 이 글을 봤을 때, 내년 초 반복될 오늘과 같은 떡락장에서 조금이나마 힘을 얻을 누군가를 위해! :)

This was not the original article I was going to write today. However, I will take a moment to record my memories of the day by putting off my writing. When I read this article later, for someone who will gain some strength from the same market as today's that will be repeated early next year! :)
