Here we are, back for year 3 of National Journal Posting Month!
Last year's winners who journaled every day were award a special prize. And you never know what this year could bring for those that complete the challenge.
I must confess I have been away from my journal since the summer and struggled to be here today! And I am more than ready to get back into it. I'm a big believer in the benefits of journaling. For me, it's the best way to center myself each day.
I get to slow down and sit with one singular focus. My mind isn't fractured with every day pursuits. I'm focused on the present. This challenge of journaling everyday for the next 30 days is freeing in it's routine.
I'm going with manga style journaling again this year. You can see my entry for Day 1 below. I've prepared my journal with panels ahead of time and will journal on one page per day. Unless the need for a longer entry happens.
I didn't order new acrylic pens this year. I've got stock piles some where in my office so the hunt is on. But I could end up order more if my favorite colors run out before I find my stash.
This year I'll also have to journal away from home for a week while I'm at a conference. That means packing all my supplies. Which made me wonder what everyone else's go-to journaling supplies include.
Here's my because it's fun journaling supply list:
• Blackout Dot Grid Journal (I like Archer & Olive or Scribbles That Matter)
• My water based acrylic assorted color pens (I'm using some Gel Pens, Posca from Japan, and some generic, probably toxic acrylic paint pens I got off Amazon)
• A pack of assorted stencils from Etsy
• My book light (helps when journaling on black paper in the evening)
I'll pack all of that with me when I travel. Now I wish I had a journal bag...is that thing? Someone send me a link!
Here's to a month of journaling together! Good Luck everyone!
