A hologram is a 3D image that is captured by lasers.

Technically any method that can make light waves create interference patterns can create a 3D hologram. You can scratch out a 3D hologram without a laser.

Once the image of the 3D object is captured, it can be projected into space. A hologram can be etched onto photographic paper using lasers or even projected into space using lasers and computer models that emulate the movement of the subject.

or embossed similar to how a vinyl record would be printed.

The hologram is a relatively new technology that has been in existence for less than 60-years.

Dennis Gabor pioneered holography in 1947 which is more than 70 years ago. That makes the beginning of holography roughly contemporary with the first electronic digital computers. Are digital computers also "relatively new technology"? I guess maybe but how long then until it is no longer "relatively new technology"?

If you are referring to the first practical optical hologram of a 3D object that was 1962 which is approximately 60 years ago.
