Life in the Ghetto is difficult but it's fun and amazing. When I was a kid, I was used to heavy noises around the neighborhood, Funny enough when there is a bit of silence, I will feel it abnormal and ask myself a question like Did someone die?
Kids from the ghetto could play even while in their dreams, it's not an exaggeration but that is the gospel truth. There are cases where we have to walk far away from home just to be free from parents' disturbance, to play the whole day. We hardly have time to attempt our school assignments, let alone to read our books.
The only time you see a ghetto kid reading is when he or she is tied to a tree, with lots of spanking or seriously canned. The word "Go read your books" is like asking us to do the impossible, most of us despised that short phrase so much.
There are cases where I might just decide to be of good behavior for about one or two days, and my dad or mum will go "This that You are this quiet, I believe you are planning something dangerous and scary. Since being quiet for one or two days normally brings about unnecessary accusations, then I decided to play to the fullest, At most, I would be spanked like twenty times or cane mercilessly.
The amazing this about most of us is that, we are very much addicted to being punished, most of us don't feel pains anymore. During those days, I had a friend named "KAMALA". Kamala is the craziest guy I have ever met, he is super stubborn and he doesn't feel pain anymore. There was a day he walked up to his dad and said, Dad, you did not beat me yesterday, Won't you beat me today sir? and I was like Are you not?
Whenever my dad is on work leave, he normally has me monitored, so I won't be able to explore the way I always do, I will sit down quietly with my eyes shinning like that of a wounded lion, During this period I seldomly have time to play, so what I normally do is that I will walk up to my mum and say "ma guess sales is kind of very low today" and my innocent mum will be like yes my son, here comes my question, should I help you hawk some bread? She will gladly say yes, and Immediately she said You can, I will switch moods, and will be the happiest kid in the neighborhood.
Whether I made a sale or not, I always played to the fullest, looking dirty from head to toe.
Living in the ghetto is fun, kids from the ghetto are smart, and the sluggish ones are being taken advantage of, so it's always the survival of the fittest. That is why kids from the ghetto are always smart wherever they find themselves.
