I finally decided to be open-minded and look more into cryptocurrency trading and investing this year. I have been into trading/investing stocks and forex for a while but wondered at first if the cryptocurrency buzz was going to be sort of along the lines of the tulips of Holland craze. But seems like it is here to stay and the bliockchain technology can solve some problems as well as gaining momentum. Probably good from a psychological standpoint to accept the possibility that there can be corrections and volatility, as there would be for investing and trading any genre of assets.
So I am gradually accumulating some Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin but also adding in some alt coins here and there as well...so far, have small amounts of Dash, Ripple, Potcoin, Siacoin, Monero, ZCash.
I am looking at adding gradually some othe alt coins like OmiseGo, Cardano, Ark, Stellar Lumens, VertCoin, Verge, Z Coin, Nexus, Lisk, Salt, NEM, Walton, GroestlCoin, TenX, Komodo, Neblio, and perhaps some others as they come to my attention.
...I read that perhaps in the long run, maybe 90% or so of the small coins and ICOs might not make it. Sometimes there may be an opportunity to make a short term momentum trade to buy as a small coin spikes on a pump and dump--ride some of the momentum, don't risk too much, cut losses quickly when it doesn't work out.
You know--there really aren't many guarantees in life. Taking some calculated risks while also having a strategy to diversify, cut losses, keep learning, be open to possibilities and just have some fun with the whole thing seems pretty prudent to me!
