Hi Dtube, hi Steemit,
fear is a good indicator of whether we are on the right track. It helps us on the way out of our comfort zone, because with a little anxiety and discomfort, we are on alert, fully focused and ready to perform at peak levels. But when the fear becomes too strong, this performance potential drops again. The relationship between anxiety and performance can be mapped with a Yerkes-Dodson curve named after the two psychologists who found it out. On this curve, our performance increases to a point called the sweet spot and then it starts to decrease. The challenge is to find our optimal level of anxiety where our performance is at its peak. But to find out and reach your personal sweet spot, it is necessary to leave the comfort zone.
Often we are afraid to leave the familiar comfort zone because we do not know what to expect on the unknown side.
Within the comfort zone it is quite comfortable and getting out of it costs us overcoming, because we know it could be cold, dark, wet outside the comfort zone.
We believe that leaving the comfort zone is associated with hard work and a large pool of energy. But that does not have to be that way.
Here comes a paradox and also the law of resonance into play. It can either be hard work to leave the comfort zone or it is easy for us, depending on what we believe, depending on what corresponds to our being-so.
If we want to go too far and go too far, it can lead to a negative result and reinforce the idea that challenging yourself is a bad idea. It is our natural tendency to return to an anxiety-neutral, comfortable state. This gives the impression that it is difficult to break out of the comfort zone. This is like manifesting desired living conditions and material wealth. It takes little practice in the beginning, and you start slowly, trying to manifest small, everyday things, and if you can do it better, you can do the great creations. In principle, it does not matter if I manifest a small, red toy car, or a big, red Ferrari. I can only manifest that which I am willing to believe, which is in my imagination. And then it helps to take advantage of the momentum: start slowly and then get going.
Abraham uses the image of a carousel on which we want to ride. If I am already sitting on the carousel, I can drive as fast as I would like and have a lot of fun with it. However, when I first want to jump on the carousel I burst from the rotating carousel and fall on the nose. It must first slow down, so I can jump up, but then can start the fast ride.
Here are a few things you can do to leave your comfort zone:
Brush your teeth with your other hand
knock on your neighbor's door and introduce yourself
excuse to a family member
shoot a video about you with your smartphone and post it on FB
Iss something new, or something you do not want to try
Take a cold shower
Ask someone for something you would like to have, e.g. the seat in the bus, or the sports section of the newspaper
I hope you can get something helpful out of the video.
All the best when leaving your comfort zone!
Stay Steemed!
Love, Unity & Abundance to y'all
Holger
Deutsch Version:
Alles Gute beim Verlassen eurer Komfortzone!
Herzlichst
Holger
