Greetings, everybody
If you have followed me long enough, you probably remember my black cat, Negrito. He's what some may call a roof cat. He used to come by just for food, and occasionally he just disapeared for a day or two. Covid-19 seems to have changed his world too.
Negrito and Delilah keeping social distance
He was already pretty grumpy when we got Delilah. It took him some time to accept her as our new member of the family. Now that his friends are in quarantine he has to spend more time with us because he seems to be the only cat going around at odd times. What follows is a faithful translation of our most recent onversation.
Hey, buddy. How are you doing?
What do you think? Just leave me alone
Aren't you coming down for a bite?
What you got?
Some bread
Nah, I pass
Come on, cat. Just stay here with us, have some fun, stay safe. You can even recover some of the weight you lost.
Is she there? I can't stand her. I miss my street gang. Everything looks so deserted at nights now.
Don't think too much about that. Maybe this happened for a reason. For your own good. Don't get sentimental now.
I'm not being sentimental. I'm not gonna cry. [indistinct meowing, probably sniffing]
Did you hear that?
I did not hear anything. Come on down.
I think it's one of my buddies.
Noone is letting their cats go out with this virus going on a rampage.
Shut the mate up! It does not affect cats! Why do you people keep talking about that thing?
I'm sick of it.
Ok, ok. Take it easy
Is that a bird?
You won't believe it, but I have not seen many birds around: I think they are keeping the quarantine too.
Damn it!
Come on, buddy. Come down and let's have some bread with coffee. Delilah already ate hers and is waiting for you to play or something.
Ok. I had it! Just let that gillotine fall and let's be done with it.
