These are important dates for the family to be together, enjoying a meal and maintaining the tradition of a Christmas dinner. We are also grateful to be together for another year after a past few years full of ups and downs, including illnesses. We are slowly getting through this, and although we don't live in the same house, we gather at our parents' house to celebrate both Christmas and New Year's, a beautiful tradition.
Son fechas importantes para la familia estar reunida disfrutando y comiendo para mantener la tradición de una Cena Navideña además de ser agradecidos por estar un año más todos juntos luego de unos pasados llenos de altibajos así cómo enfermedades de a poco vamos saliendo, aunque no vivimos en la misma casa para celebrar tanto la Navidad cómo Año Nuevo nos reunimos en la casa de nuestros Padres cómo una costumbre muy bonita.
In these other photos, you can see my younger sister @franciscana23 preparing Hallacas, which are delicious but involve a lot of work beforehand. It's not often mentioned, but it's exhausting because you have to prepare the stew, choose the leaves to wrap them in, lay them out, and arrange them before finally boiling them for 45 minutes. Then you can enjoy this typical Venezuelan Christmas dish. We also wanted to prepare Pernil al Horno (roasted pork leg), but since we didn't have enough gas, we decided not to risk it and wait to see if they sell it before the end of 2025. But the important thing is that we're all together again.
En estás otras fotos se encuentra mí hermana menor @franciscana23 en la preparación de las Hallacas qué son deliciosas pero llevan un gran trabajo antes qué poco se menciona pero es agotador puesto que hay que preparar el guiso, elegir las hojas dónde se envuelven, tenderlas y arreglarlas para al final sancocharlas por espacio de 45 minutos y ya después si a disfrutar del plato típico de las Navidades Venezolanas también queríamos preparar el Pernil al horno pero al no tener el gas suficiente decidimos no arriesgar y esperar a ver si venden antes de qué finalice el año 2025 pero lo importante es qué estamos juntos todos otra vez.
